Of course it's good, it's great in fact. But first you need to decide on your niche, choose on which vertical you will concentrate and where you will place your offer, find a way to build a quality website that will attract high traffic volume, as that will be requirement for starting your journey in this field and joining some relevant networks.

Start with finding a product/niche you are confortable with then start promoting those affiliate offers to earn your commissions.

Most people do paid advertising. There are several affiliate programs to join and as many ad networks to serve you ad traffic to promote those offers to the right leads.

Yes, the more you know about the niche you are active in, the better.

Second, the more you are convinced that the product you are promoting adds value to your targets, the better.
